Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

ESG data requests from clients — especially large European companies — are becoming routine. Bsustain structures that response into a sustainability report aligned with the European VSME standard, which covers the scope of information a client can legally request from an SME under the European value chain cap.

The VSME sustainability report is generated automatically as soon as the questionnaire is complete. The platform structures all the information and delivers a complete document, aligned with the European VSME standard, ready to share with clients, banks or partners.

VSME (Voluntary Standard for SMEs) is the European sustainability reporting standard designed specifically for small and medium enterprises, published by EFRAG in December 2024 and recognised by the European Commission Recommendation of 30 July 2025. It is not mandatory, but it is the EU-recognised standard for SME sustainability reporting. Applying VSME prepares your company to respond to value chain requests, access financing and participate in tenders.

The Bsustain sustainability report follows the European VSME standard, recognised by the European Commission Recommendation of 30 July 2025. It is the European reference for structuring responses to ESG data requests from clients, banks and institutions, and for supporting applications to programmes and tenders.

Bsustain provides a guiding checklist at the start of the questionnaire, and also when you click Upload documents to pre-fill, whenever you opt for AI-powered automatic pre-filling. The typical information is grouped in five categories: Energy and emissions (electricity, natural gas or fuel bills), Water (water bills), Waste (MIRR or transport records), Employees (Annual Single Report or social balance) and Financial (IES or Annual Accounts). You don't need everything ready before starting — the platform guides the collection step by step and flags what's missing.

The VSME report is exported as a structured PDF with professional visual identity, and also available as a shareable link. You can send it directly to clients, banks or partners, or attach it to applications and commercial proposals.

The platform is designed to be intuitive, even for those producing a sustainability report for the first time. The questionnaire is guided, in clear language, and organised around data your company already has. Those who prefer to accelerate can upload documents (bills, annual reports, employee lists) for automatic pre-filling. The Bsustain team is always available to support you at any point in the process.

The Bsustain ESG diagnosis is free and shows your company's level of maturity across the three dimensions — environmental, social and governance — with a global score and a per-area radar. It works as a starting point to identify where you stand today and what you can improve.
